Homeschooling With Grace

March always feels like a landmark in our homeschool year. The excitement of starting in the fall has settled into steady routines that keep our family calendar filled more than we were expecting, and yet the finish line is finally in sight. As parents, this is often when we commonly feel proud and tired. We’ve navigated lesson plans, character training, schedule changes, and the everyday business of life. In Ecclesiastes 3, we’re reminded that there is a season for everything. March is a season of perseverance—a time to trust that God is working through both the structured lessons and the unexpected interruptions.

By this point in the year, it’s easy to notice what hasn’t gone according to plan. Maybe the curriculum didn’t fit quite right. Maybe a subject took longer than expected. Maybe attitudes—ours or our children’s—needed constant adjusting. Yet Galatians 6:9 encourages us not to grow weary in doing good. Homeschooling is not about checking every box; it is about faithfulness. The consistent love, the daily prayers, the conversations around the table—these are the seeds that matter most.

As we approach the Easter season, March also draws our hearts back to the foundation of our calling. In John 11:25, Jesus reminds us that He is the resurrection and the life. The same power that brings new life in spring is at work in our homes. When we feel depleted, He renews us. When we question ourselves, He steadies us. HCS becomes a beautiful reminder that we are not alone in this homeschool calling. Together, we support, encourage, and pray for one another.

So as March 2026 begins, let’s finish this season with grace. Celebrate the progress your children have made—academically and spiritually. Offer yourself the same grace you offer them. Lean into the HCS community. Trust that God is shaping hearts in ways you may not fully see yet. The work you are doing matters deeply, and the Lord who called you is faithful to carry you through to the end of this school year.
