The HCS Choir seeks to honor and glorify God through excellence in musical education and performance. Our goal is to provide students with musically enriching development and outreach opportunities within an environment that emphasizes reflecting the Gospel of Christ in personal and corporate relationships.
Jenny Shippee, is excited to be bring Heritage Choir to our new Friday Morning Music Club. She started singing in choirs at age four, and currently performs on oboe, so she doesn't often have the opportunity to sing much, which is why she jumped at the opportunity to lead the vocal department at HCS. Being in choir is not about having a “perfect voice”; it is about learning to use the instrument God gave all of us to make awesome music together, to have fun doing it, and most of all, to glorify Him.
Beatriz Suarez-Pastrana is the JR Choir director for HCS. She started leading small vocal ensembles at age 16, and continued leading church choirs until present, in two different continents. She also led 2-12 grade choirs at a Christian School for eight years, directed the elementary music department, and started a chapel worship program with an elementary choir that ministered every week in chapel. Mrs. Pastrana loves to teach the music fundamentals in singing so we can use our talents for the honor, glory, and praise of Him to Whom it all belongs. The Lamb is Worthy.
