Long or floor length dresses are suggested for the ladies and a suit and tie for the gentlemen. See the HCS Dress Code below before choosing your outfit.
FORMAL DRESS CODE POLICY
Make sure to read it and plan accordingly.
- Back of the dress should be at least mid-back, meaning at least half of the back is covered.
- Dress may not be low cut or have a plunging neckline.
- No visible cleavage, midriffs, or undergarments (including bra straps).
- No strapless dresses. Spaghetti straps and clear straps that go over the shoulder and offer support are allowed.
- Halter-style dresses that have straps greater than 1 inch (and do not show cleavage) are allowed. No spaghetti strap, less than 1-inch strap, or clear-strap halter-style dresses are allowed.
- Dresses may not be shorter than three inches above the knee, including any slits.
- Jewelry and tattoo guidelines from the dress code policy must be followed.
- Women’s formal evening-wear pants are allowed.
ATTENTION LADIES
- A photo of the front and back of your dress selection(s) must be emailed to events@hcssd.org for approval by April 1. Picture must be of dress worn, not on the hanger.
- No photo submissions will be accepted for consideration on the day of the event.
- If you fail to submit a photo by the deadline, you will not be allowed to participate and your registration will not be refunded.
- All photos submissions will be deleted after the event.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Parents, carpool drivers, and limousine/party bus chaperones will need to escort students home if they fail the dress code at the event check-in. Students who do not conform to the dress code will be denied admission WITHOUT REFUND. If you are unsure, please contact a Formal Committee member for clarification.
