Ministry and Missions

Since 1955, the San Diego Rescue Mission has been providing meals, shelter, clothing, education and job-skills training for men, women, and single parents with children experiencing homelessness.

Serving San Diego County at multiple locations, they help restore the lives of people experiencing homelessness, abuse, poverty or addiction through faith-based emergency services, residential rehabilitation programs, children’s services, hunger relief efforts and community outreach.

You make this ministry possible! Your support fuels our outreach, changing the state of homelessness in San Diego one life at a time!

In past events, HCS High School volunteers have put together many shelter kits, served lunch, and assisted in restocking the children’s clothing area.

Current Donation Drive

making no-sew blankets

Did you know you can make comfy fleece blankets without sewing, gluing, or stapling? What a perfect way to care for our neighbors experiencing homelessness!

Purchase fleece at a local fabric store and make these easy no-sew blankets at home. Simply follow the easy instructions that may be found on the SDRM website HERE.

This would make a great fellowship project for groups of students or as a family. The 10th-grade class will be getting together and making these as a social event.

Bring your completed blankets to the office no later than February 29th. You may also bring them to EC Class Day or Academy and give them to Mrs. Stormoen who will take them down to the Rescue Mission on March 1st.

For donating Bibles for this family to hand out, please drop off at the school office during regular office hours.
