POSITION: EVENTS & FIELD TRIP COORDINATOR - Hybrid Position (75 Remote/25 Onsite)

APPLICATION PERIOD: 3/15/24 - Filled

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Event/Field Trip Coordinator needs to be personable, flexible, detail-oriented, able to work with others, possess great leadership skills, and strong computer skills. Duties include scheduling events, forming and heading up committees, creating events and field trips on Homeschool Life (HSL), answering emails, and advertising events/field trips in the newsletter.

The Event Coordinator would be in charge of scheduling School Pictures, 6th Grade Camp, Grad Nite, High School Formal, SAT-10 Testing, monthly Senior and 6th Grade Events, and possibly other events. This position would also work with the rest of the staff and play a role in the planning of Graduation, the Back-to-School Rally, the Christmas Program, and the Annual Heritage Conference.

The Field Trip portion of this position includes scheduling at least two field trips a month. This position would work with former Field Trip Coordinator Vikki Grieshaber for ideas and training. Field trips include San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Fleet Science Center, The Midway, Knott’s Berry Farm, Sea World, and more.  Responsibilities include: contacting and setting up the field trip, creating field trip sign-ups on HomeSchool Life, field trip check-ins on field trip day, passing out tickets, and other field trip-related duties.

SCHEDULE:
This position is primarily a remote position.  However, onsite responsibilities would include things like:  handling check-in and ticket distribution on field trip days (staying for the event is completely optional and delegating this responsibility to a responsible attendee is also a possibility), attending meetings related to certain events (such as Spring Formal and Graduation), being present for picture days and SAT testing days, and physically helping out at other office-sponsored school-wide events such as the Leadership Dinner, Back to School Rally, the Christmas Program, and the Annual Heritage Conference. Monthly staff meeting attendance in person (or periodically on Zoom) would also be required.  Periodically serving as a back-up for the front desk worker when needed to cover for illness, vacations, etc. would also be desired.

HOURS:
The weekly hours will vary according to the school calendar and what events are coming up.  Generally speaking, somewhere between 15-20 hours/week would be a good estimate.

PAY: $16.85/hour
