JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Yearbook Advisor position would work remotely from home on a self-directed schedule. This person needs to be a team player with the HCS office staff and other Yearbook program student interns. This position reports directly to the Yearbook/VMA Program Director.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Trello, Gmail, and Band will be used regularly. Training is provided as needed. An ability and confidence to learn other software including Jostens' Yearbook Avenue will be required. No prior Yearbook experience is required but must be either a current or former (alumni) HCS member.
SCHEDULE:
At Home: Yearbook Advisor sets their own hours from home. Time required depends on work pace.
On Site: Physical and or Zoom planning meetings with other yearbook leaders will be required occasionally. Advisor will also be required to attend and run in-person monthly staff development/training meetings once a month, and weekly meetings with yearbook students. Currently, these weekly meetings are held during during three periods at class day. While there are advantages to continuing that model, the Advisor may change the location and time for these weekly meetings work with personal schedule.
Daily correspondence over Band and email from home as needed.
Additional time for events and projects as needed.
HOURS:
Between 15-20 hours per week average (July -March)
PAY: $16.30/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Download list of student-led duties HERE. The Advisor's responsibility is to teach and oversee that students execute their roles and complete their assignments. However, the Advisor must be prepared to step in, and complete assignments as needed. Advisor will oversee all duties with priority on those directly involved with book production. Others, as availability of students permits.
