JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Junior Academy Volunteer Lead will work closely with the Administration in all aspects of operating Junior Academy. The Lead will remain on campus for the duration of the day on Junior Academy dates and be available to assist, answer questions, troubleshoot, or help in any other way needed. The position will also work with the HCS Academy Lead to ensure the full campus is monitored through Parent Volunteer jobs. The primary responsibilities are listed below.
This position is open to HCS members. Having a student enrolled in Junior Academy is not required. The Lead will become part of the HCS Leadership Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Physically present for all Junior Academy days for the duration of the day
* Be the point of contact between the church and Junior Academy. Unlock/lock the facility according to church protocols
* Be the point of contact between Junior Academy issues and the Office Administration
* Lead the chapel opening/announcements (announcements, pledge, WORD memorization, or other ideas. This opening time should be distinctively Christian in content and engaging for the whole grade range present)
* Be available to assist the younger grade teachers in the classroom as needed
* Responsible for managing and ensuring parents have signed up for their volunteer positions
* Assists teachers and/or parents in the supervision of students during breaks and lunch
* Primary point of contact for all Junior Academy teachers and parents
* Ensures all policies are being executed and enforced on campus
* Attends the two faculty meetings per year: August and January
* Attends the annual Leadership Dinner in August
* Attends the annual Meet and Greet in April
* Attends other HCS Leadership meetings if able and desired
* Manages the Junior Academy email ensuring all incoming emails are dealt with timely and proactively communicating to the families throughout the school year
* Regularly updates the Jr. Academy BAND app with announcements and photos
